The Batter Ups is a one-man pop-punk project from Odense, Denmark, created by songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Thomas Stubgaard.

After spending years writing, recording, and performing in various bands and projects—including the one-man power-pop outfit Tommy and The Rockets and horror-punk band The Hitchcocks—Thomas returned in 2026 with a new mission: write fast songs, catchy hooks, and the kind of choruses that get stuck in your head for days.

Inspired by classic pop-punk, vintage comic books, and 1950s sci-fi adventures, The Batter Ups combines loud guitars, awkward crushes, questionable decisions, and a growing cast of original characters living somewhere between a comic book and a Saturday matinee movie poster.

The artwork and comics are created with the help of AI. The music isn’t. Every song is written, arranged, and performed by Thomas, drawing on more than three decades of writing and recording music.

The debut album, Interstellar Crush, is currently in production and will be supported by music videos, artwork, comics, and an expanding Batter Ups universe.
